Departure (2015) is a portrait of contemporary women who are photographed as they arrive and depart through Incheon International Airport for various reasons such as immigration, study abroad, employment, tourism, business travel and international marriage. To this day, many women still leave or want to leave Korea for these and other reasons. Departure - Addition (2024) is a video that combines a picture taken ten years ago and footage of surrounding landscape that artists gathered while coming and going to the photography location at that time. This video depicts the airport as a space “between” here and there and asks what kind of life all subjectsㅡpeople, moving walkways, trees, benches and planesㅡare heading toward.
