Kiseby is not just a group name and a virtual subject made of the initials of the two artists, Kang Eun-Young and Im Sang-Bin. They have produced works by complementing and cooperating with each other. They make a new landscape via the process of scanning their body parts, copying and re-creating them. Their body parts are transferred from an analogue entity to mathematic data and translated into independent existence by digital process.
DIGiSCAPE is a landscape of digital creature. Digital creatures in DIGiSCAPE live as self-regulated individuals in a new form which is totally different from an analogue space. The imperfect fragments of body in the real world are reborn and live a independent life in the digital space.
Kiseby asks a question about the ‘body’, the classical sign proving the fact that ‘I am here right now’ in the era of confusing reality and virtual reality. They believe the body doesn’t function as a boundary between them but an exploration of the possibility of making new species.
