Women with Disabilities Empathy, Disable Women’s Theatre Group ‘Dancing Waist’ established in 2003, aims to express the lives and human rights of such women with disabilities. Through critical and participatory dramas, often crossing the border between the stage and the audience, Dancing Waist attempts to communicate with and criticize the world. Through the disabled women’s bodily experiences, they create their own unique movements and body language. Through these creative projects, they try to meet other social minorities. Ultimately, through these practices, they suggest a movement that may change the world. Dancing Waist has organized educational, theatrical, and performative programs. Selected projects are Suddenly (2003), Ten Fingers Ten Toes (2010), Turtle Radio (2011), Germination: the Bud of Independence (2014), Turtle Radio 3 (2015) and Radio of Flooding Complaints (2017).
