Kim Won Hwa created a sci-fi futurology about Korea. As this narrates a story about the rise of a new paradigm among a future generation, it reveals that there is no ultimate solution to avoid real-life crisis.
Space Center DMC Observatory is one such series coined from the Launch Pad. Using virtual space like, © Google Earth, this program reconstructs a new born city in Korea that is filled with skyscrapers conjured up with true sci-fi imagination. This virtual space becomes a constructive representation of collective desires and fragmented entities coexisting inside. The high tower is shaped like a rocket in the center of the city that serves as a futuristic totem as well as a fetishistic object for observers of the city to satisfy their voyeuristic desires. Space Center DMC Observatory embodies a meta-fictional approach to the city with complex collectives and individual desires that derive from reality.
