Ahn Sang-Soo

Ahn Sang-Soo is a Korean typographer and graphic designer. After graduating from university, he worked as an art director for Ggumim Monthy, Madang Monthly and Meot Monthly. In 1985, he created the Typeface Ahnsangsoo based on principles of Hangeul creation; since then, the typeface has served as an influential reference for the development of various other Hangeul fonts. In 2013, he established an independent design school, PaTI (Paju Typography Institute), and has continued to work in design education. Ahn was responsible for the visual identity design of the 1st SEOUL in MEDIA 1988–2002 (1996) as well as that of media_city seoul 2000 city: between 0 and 1 (2000).
