A researcher in art and design theory and history. Lee spent the years from 1994 / 1995 to 2000 as an experimental period working as an artist, designer, and human rights activist. From 1999 to 2013, he was an active member of DT Network, a collective of design researchers. He has served as editor-in-chief of the quarterly Craft and Culture, the Korea Art Research Institute / Sigong Art, and the monthly magazine Art in Culture.
