Seung-taek Lee is a key figure in the Korean avant-garde who is best known for his practice of “non-sculpture.” His groundbreaking multidisciplinary work utilizes traditional material and folk objects and manifests in site-specific environmental land works, interventions, ephemeral performance, appropriated canvas works, sculpture, and photographs. Lee’s works are in numerous collections including, among others: Tate Modern, London; National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul (MMCA); Seoul Museum of Art; the Rachofsky Collection; and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney.
