HYBE (Hive for hybrid environment)’s In Between uses motion tracking as a device to interact with the audience in a theatrical situation. It senses the position of the moving audience that comes closer to the installation, and fictional footsteps of an invisible character that approaches the audience. As the footsteps of the invisible character moves closer to an empty space, the audience encounters a ghost like figure of an invisible man. The surrounding color changes to correspond to sensor which reacts to direct physical interaction with the footsteps. This wandering existence, at this moment, provokes a sense of loss felt by minorities, strangers and those on the periphery may belong in this sector.
