Zbynek Baladran is mainly known for his animate drawings and documentaries based on knowledge, symbols and narratives that relate to the history of the Czech Republic. His works act as an archaeological study that uncovers collective memories from records, propaganda films, old soundtracks and sounds. The Model of the Universe explores ultimate principles to understand the world with a sheet of paper, a pencil and a few diagrams. Abstract drawings of symbols accompany the narration which offers whimsical commentaries about the world with radical simplicity and irony. Baladran questions whether the relationship between image and sound is a reciprocal one or a descriptive understanding of two different realities.
