These photographic works with an element of biographical narrative have been enlarged from images chosen from tens of thousands of black and white negatives. For the majority of these photos, it is unclear where they were shot, what events occurred, or even why the photos were taken in the first place.
At first glance, the sheer quantity of these images of dispersed recollections renders them meaningless and disconnected, and they cannot be strung together to produce actual memories. But these seemingly insignificant images cannot be wiped from the depths of the mind. These enigmatic images periodically flash by in the mind. Without the evidence of photography, it is sometimes difficult to discern whether these images are dreams or fantasy, fiction or truth. In reality, these little blue shadows are like phantom files in computer memory. It may be impossible to say where these images come from, yet they often appear in the subconscious or in dreamscapes.
