Apichatpong Weerasethakul

Born in Bangkok. He started making films and video shorts in 1994 and completed his first feature Mysterious Object at Noon in 2000. Since 1998 he has also mounted exhibitions and installations in many countries. His art projects and feature films including Blissfully Yours (2002), Tropical Malady (2004) and Syndromes and a Century (2006) have won him widespread recognition. His recent film, Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives won the Palme d’Or at Cannes.
