Barbara London, co-curator of escape, has built an essential context for the visionary statements being made internationally in media art by emerging talents, as well as by established artists such as Joan Jonas, Nam June Paik, Gary Hill, and Bill Viola. At The Museum of Modern Art, New York, where she is associate curator in the Department of Film and Video, she has organized more than 150 exhibitions, and assembled a unique collection of over one thousand videotapes and installations. London has taught at New York University and the School of Visual Arts, and has published and lectured extensively.
