media_city seoul 2000 city: between 0 and 1, was held from September 2 to November 15, 2000, at the Seoul History Museum (formerly Seoul Metropolitan Museum), Seoul subway stations, and urban electronic billboards, was conceived as a leading art festival of Seoul. It aimed to establish the city as a hub for the future society and to foster a mature media culture. The Biennale consisted of five major projects: the media art exhibition “Escape”, the public art exhibition “Subway Project - Public Furniture”, the urban electronic billboard exhibition “City Vision/Clip City”, the media experience exhibition “Digital Alice”, and “Media Entertainment”, a program showcasing the latest media industry technologies.
