Kunyong Lee

Lee Kun-Yong has been a leader of Korea’s avant-garde since the 1970s, realizing works that encompass performance, sculpture, installation, and video. Using the body as his primary medium, he records the physical existence and visible traces of the self in his “Bodyscape” series; these works reveal performative actions, their relationship to the sites where they are performed, and the time in which they develop or undergo change. Lee participated in Subway Project: Public Furniture as part of media_city seoul 2000 city: between 0 and 1 (2000).
