Jeoung Jae Choul received a BFA and MFA in sculpture at Seoul National University. Since his first solo exhibition in 1992 at the art gallery of the Arts Council Korea, he has presented works in 22 solo exhibitions and over 200 group shows. From 2004, Jeoung worked on the Silk Road Project for several years. Since 2013, he has been working on research-based participatory work on marine pollution and waste in the ocean. This project endeavors to excavate memories buried in particular spaces or places and to explore the issues of cultural transference and hybridity.
