Catastrophe of Daily Life and Financial Capital
2013.12.03 –

In this event, the workshop reflected on the imaginative potential of utopian thought in the face of catastrophe. It examined the disjunction between disaster and everyday life, contemplated the size and role of the individual amidst hopes for new subjectivities and prevailing political indifference, and considered the power of art in turbulent times. The session also explored how so-called “weak art” can overturn political overdrive and reveal the beauty of utopian naivety in moments when authority falters.
