Amature Amplifier
Amature Amplifier is a one-person group formed in 2001 by the singer-songwriter Hahn Vad, who also performs under other pseudonyms, such as Yamagata Tweakster. As Amature Amplifier, he writes and performs songs with lyrics set to simple folk melodies that convey candid emotions from everyday life. Hahn Vad often categorizes his Amature Amplifier songs as “love songs,” but their socially defiant undertone reflects his social and political engagement. Amature Amplifier released his debut EP 2/9/Y/O/M/C/ in 2002, followed by GeukJwaPyo (Polar Coordinates) in 2004 and Soo Sung Land in 2009. In 2014 he published a book of his collected lyrics, Gaema Gowon Uranium Cheonyeo (Gaema Plateau Uranium Girl).
