Johanna Billing

Johanna Billing often collaborates with other participants such as musicians, dancers, and students to produce videos and live events. Her work incorporates music, movement, rhythm, and ideas of repetition to explore notions of individual versus collective actions in tandem with larger political and cultural phenomena. Billing graduated from Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design, Stockholm, in 1999. She has held solo exhibitions at institutions including Trondheim Kunstmuseum (2017); Villa Croce, Genova (2016); and Modern Art Oxford (2010). Her work has been shown in international group exhibitions such as the 10th Nordic Biennial of Contemporary Art (2019), the 4th Auckland Triennial (2010), and documenta 12 (2007).
