2023 SeMA-HANA Media Art Award Review and Ceremony

The SeMA-HANA Media Art Award was established in 2014 with the support of Hana Financial Group to enhance the recognition of contemporary art and expand its appreciation in Korean society. Awarded at each Seoul Mediacity Biennale, it is given to selected artists who demonstrate new artistic visions and contributions to media art.

The award includes a trophy and prize money, determined through a jury process evaluating participating artists. The recipient(s) are selected by a jury of five domestic and international art professionals, following their review of provided materials, a visit to the exhibition site, and a final discussion.

– Jury panels: Alia Swastika, Director of the Yogyakarta Biennale Foundation; Humberto Moro, Associate Director of Programs at Dia Art Foundation in New York; Rachael Rakes, SMB12 Artistic Director; Eunju Choi, General Director of Seoul Museum of Art
– Recipients: Francois Knoetze, Core Dump, 2018-2019
