Domestic Resistance: Nohdong/노동 Nongkrong presents a special collaboration by artists and activists in Malaysia and South Korea—Okui Lala, Nasrikah, the Indonesian Migrant Domestic Workers Association (PERTIMIG), Aletheia Shin, National House Managers Cooperative, and Korean Women Workers Association. “Nohdong” and “Nongkrong” carries the meaning of “labour” and “casual gathering” in Korean and Indonesian language respectively.
In this lecture performance, local specialists and members of the public are invited to share a dining table and map shared reference points in the interconnected struggles of domestic work advocacy, labor diasporas, and the racialization/gendering of caring/cleaning work.
