Geologic Techno: Dance with the Earth Beat

Geologic Techno: Dance with the Earth Beat is a workshop where you can learn street dancing to the sound of techno music made of seismic waves from remote places. The music, created by converting inaudible earthquake waves data into sounds, is an infinite extension of physicality that allows you to virtually experience a specific place and environment.

This series of workshops presents ways of understanding and exploring ways to move your body to the music which lead to a more active listening experience. Consisting of five sessions, the workshops begin with an introduction on the understanding of earthquakes and are followed by movement and costume making workshops. In a final live event, open to the public, the participants share their learning experiences.
