Un-drum

This performance, critically reflecting on the cultural changes that occurred during China’s Cultural Revolution, arose from intense electronic sound performances based on the artist’s actual experiences of detention and torture during the 2006 Israel-Lebanon War. It also incorporated sounds borrowed from opera or music criticized by Communist youth during the Cultural Revolution, exploring the collision of these sounds and propaganda art.
