Born in 1953 in Danyang, Chungcheongbuk-do, Woohyon majored in Graphic Design at the Hongik University College of Art and has worked on over 40 domestic and international character designs, including “The 600th Anniversary of Seoul,” CI and image integration plans for more than 40 companies and organizations, including Namwon City, and poster designs for international events such as the Cannes Film Festival in France. He has won prestigious awards such as the Japan NOMA Picture Book Original Artwork Competition Grand Prize, the Czech BIB-89 Gold Medal, the Environmental Culture and Art Award, the Kodansha Publishing Culture Award, the Children’s Culture Award, and the Korean Children’s Book Award, establishing himself as a world-renowned artist. In addition, he has been involved in environmental movements advocating for recycled notebooks and paper, family culture movements through the “Good Father” group, cultural movements for children and youth through KBBY, YMCA, YWCA, and UNICEF, and international cultural exchange through the Asia Culture Exchange Research Institute.
