Brice Dellsperger
Brice Dellsperger is a Paris-based artist and filmmaker. In his ongoing video-and-installation series Body Double (1995–), Dellsperger reimagines iconic scenes from contemporary cinema, recreating them with a deliberate homemade quality and heightened sense of irony. He often portrays multiple characters across the gender spectrum, challenging structural conventions of identity, gender, and sexuality in relation to ideas of representation. Dellsperger has taught at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (EnsAD), Paris, since 2003. He has held recent solo presentations at Villa Arson, Nice (2019), and Marsèlleria, Milan (2018), and participated in numerous group exhibitions, such as Medusa at Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris (2017). His works have also been screened extensively at institutions worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Centre Pompidou, Paris; and Para Site, Hong Kong.
