Koo Bohnchang

Koo Bohnchang After studying in Germany, Koo Bohnchang shed a new light on the artistic value of staged photography, and presented a new direction for Korean photography of the late 1980’s when the Korean photo scene was dominated by straight photography. He explored the basic formative characteristics such as the point, line, and face, and essence of various objects like ceramics, soap, mask, tableware, hands and feet, effectively using simple composition and refined colors while extending the scope of photography through a broad thematic consciousness on the finitude of time and human beings.
