Based between Hong Kong and Taipei, Chihoi is a self-taught artist, comic book writer, illustrator, and independent publisher. His work addresses a wide range of topics, from the daily lives and alienation of urbanites to the complexities of our emotions and relationships, and the intersections of dream and reality. Notable titles include The Library and I’m with My Saint (2018), Still Life (2003, reissued 2011), and Hijacking: Comic Hong Kong Literature and The Train (both 2007). In 2007, his midcareer survey exhibition Hochaaa! Chihoi’s Comic, 10-Year Retrospective! was staged across multiple venues in Hong Kong, including the Hong Kong Arts Centre and Hulahoop. His comic books have been translated into languages including English, Finnish, French, and Italian.
