구이도 야니토Guido Yannitto
구이도 야니토는 2020년부터 아르헨티나 살타에서 활동 하는 작가로, 그의 주요 관심사는 대중 문화를 연구하는 것입니다. 작가는 태피스트리와 다른 기술을 접목한 작품을 통해 평면 작업의 조각적인 측면들에 대해 탐구하며, 이러한 재현 체계가 만드는 주요한 의사소통과 번역의 측면에 관심을 두고, 정체성, 구두 전송, 번역, 계보학, 주체성, 그리고 공동작업에 대한 개념을 기반으로 한 직물 제작자들과의 협업을 지속해 왔습니다. 작가겸 큐레이터인 안드레이 페르난데즈, 콜렉티브 Thañí/Viene del monte와 협업을 통한 작품 소개 외에도, 아르헨티나 북부의 살타에 거주하는 토착민 ‘위치’ 여성 수공예 작업자들과 함께 여러 협업을 진행하고 있습니다. 작가는 2016년 한 해 동안 콜롬비아 보고타시에 위치한 예술공간 플로라아트앤네이처에서 에스쿨라플로라 레지던시에 참여하였으며, 이어서 2017년에는 네덜란드 마스트리히트에 위치한 사유를 위한 멀티폼 인스티튜트인 반 에이크의 장학 기금을 수여받았습니다. 그는 멕시코, 브라질, 이탈리아 등에서 다수의 레지던시에 참여했으며, 그의 작품은 부에노스아이레스의 Banco ITAÚ, 산타페 카스타니노+마르크로 미술관, 코르도바 에밀리오 카라파 미술관, 살타 현대미술관 등의 아르헨티나의 주요 기관 및 네덜란드 마스트리히트대학교에 소장되었습니다.
Guido Yannitto lives and works in Salta, Argentina. His major interest is exploring popular cultures. He works with tapestries and other techniques,
exploring what they have to offer, and thinking about the sculptural aspects of this planimetric technique. He is also interested in what he sees as major characteristics within this representational system, aspects of communication and translation. Ideas of identity, oral transmission, translation, genealogy, subjectivity, and collective work are conceptual axes for his exchanges with weavers. Together with curator Andrei Fernández, he collaborates with the collective Thañí/Viene del monte, accompanying the process of a group of wichí weavers, indigenous women from Salta, in the north of Argentina. In 2016 he completed the Escuela Flora program at Flora Arts and Nature, a twelve months residency program in the city of Bogota, Colombia, and in 2017 he was selected for the Jan Van Eyck Academie residency and scholarship in Maastricht, The Netherlands. He has also participated in numerous residencies in Mexico, Brazil, and Italy. His work is held in the collection of University of Maastricht; Banco Itau, Buenos Aires; Museo Castagnino+Macro, Rosario; Museo Caraffa, Córdoba; and Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Salta, Argentina.
