나타샤 톤테이Natasha Tontey
나타샤 톤테이는 인도네시아 자카르타와 욕야카르타를 중심으로 활동하는 현대미술가입니다. 다양한 매체를 기반으로 다학제적인 접근을 시도하는 작가는 일종의 ‘가공된 공포심’이 깃든 허구적 역사나 신화를 탐구합니다. 작가적 탐구는 거대 조직체계의 관점에서 벗어나, 사회의 관심망 밖에서 미약하게 존재하는 개인이나 개체의 투쟁에 눈을 돌리고, 그로부터 찾아지는 새로운 가능성들을 관찰하는데서 출발합니다. 나타샤 톤테이는 영국 런던 오토이탈리아에서 열린 개인전 《Garden Amidst the Flame》(2022)을 비롯해 싱가포르비엔날레(2022), 네덜란드 스트룸 덴 헤이그(2022), 태국 방콕 《Ghost:2565》(2022), 스위스 취리히 제8회 프로토존 《QUEER TRUST》 (2022), 서울 아르코미술관(2022), 서울 리움미술관 (2022), 독일 베를린 함부르거 반호프 현대미술관(2021), 독일 베를린 트랜스미디알레(2021), 호주 시드니 퍼포먼스스페이스(2021), 네덜란드 암스테르담 아더퓨쳐스(2021), 싱가포르국제영화제(2021), 일본 교토국제공연예술제(2021), 싱가포르 아시아영화기록보관소(2021) 등에서 소개되었습니다. 2020년 독일 카를스루에 미디어아트센터(ZKM)와 슈투트가르트 슐로스 솔리튜드 아카데미로부터 해시상을, 2021년 베를린예술대학교의 융에아카데미로부터 휴먼머신 펠로우십을 받은 바 있습니다.
Natasha Tontey is an interdisciplinary artist based between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Her artistic practice predominantly explores the fictional accounts of the history and myths surrounding “manufactured fear.” She observes any possibilities of other futures that are projected from the struggles of outcasted entities and beings. Her recent solo shows include Garden Amidst the Flame, Auto Italia, London (2022) and Pest to Power, K4 Galleri, Københavngata, Oslo (2020). Selected group shows

She is a fellow for Human Machine of the Junge Akademie at Akademie der Künste Berlin 2021-2023.
