This is a video documentation of the lecture “Why the Female Ghosts Can Be Seen?” by novelist Li Ang, delivered on October 24, 2014. The presentation opened Part 2, “Miracles, Violence, Disorders and Spirits”, of the conference Miracles, Violence, Disorders and Spirits (괴력난신), co-organized by SeMA Biennale Mediacity Seoul 2014 and the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation. Li Ang talked the background to writing her novel Visible Ghosts, which approaches Taiwan’s modern and contemporary history through the perspective of female ghosts.
