Examining the artist’s records, it is clear that Space and Perception, which Lee presented during his creative activities for seven years, was the result of his intensive studies into various ways of introducing and lending credibility to the concept of “globular shapes” through conventional optical projections. Over the course, Lee carried out developmental procedures to produce globular forms for his photo sculptures—this is evidenced in his transformation of spheres into polyhedrons by calculating the angle of division, locating the camera’s angle of view to achieve an image that matched his calculations, setting the center point inside the machine, and designing photo equipment that was capable of filming in 360 degrees around this pivot point.
