Space and Perception 1988-1 reproduces an experience of the urban landscape—namely, standing in front of a sculpture that takes the form of rolling waves while looking upward at skyscrapers that encircle the surrounding environment. Hundreds of small rectangular photos were collaged to form a tall and expansive landscape unfolds within a single frame, yet is incomprehensible in a single glance and forces the viewer to engage with its physicality.
